Get set for Sarasota Chalk Festival 2024! The popular, annual event promises to bring talented artists from around the globe to transform Sarasota’s Burns Square into a vibrant outdoor gallery. November 8th through the 10th, 2024 in Sarasota, FL.
The Sarasota International Chalk Festival has been drawing chalk artists and fans of their work to the area since 2010. The event began in Sarasota before moving to the Venice airport in 2014. It then moved back to Sarasota after Hurricane Ian in September 2022.
Though we’re sad that the festival is no longer held in Venice, we’re thrilled it’s ongoing and only 40 minutes from our Florida vacation rentals. The drive from Venice to the vibrant atmosphere of the Chalk Festival in Sarasota is a scenic and easy one.
Sarasota Chalk Festival 2024
The 2024 Chalk Festival is at Burns Square in Sarasota FL, November 8-10, 2024. This year’s event features over 120 artists from around the world creating a wide variety of art experiences that go well beyond chalk on concrete.
In fact, one of the most anticipated attractions at this year’s festival are the flower carpets. Flower Master Artists groups from around the world creating gorgeous, pictorial carpets of flowers, sand, and other natural materials. A centuries-old artistic tradition that is a perfect fit with the chalk festival.
Of course, the big draw is still what the festival is all about: Masterpieces in Chalk. You won’t believe your eyes when you see these absolutely stunning, massive, immersive works, completed by hand on pavement. Watch the artists as they work, then marvel over their finished masterpieces.
The 3D Interactive Pavement Illusions are some of the most fascinating. The clever drawings make the ground or their subjects appear to dip inward or rise above the surface of the work! Feeling artistic? Join in on the fun with free chalk at the public participation area. What fun!
